Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 12, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n\n The ad comes as billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk is set to interview Trump on X on Monday night.<\/p>\n The interview is scheduled for 8 p.m. Eastern Time and could allow Trump to seize the limelight at a time when the mainstream media has been all-in for Vice President Kamala Harris and her campaign.<\/p>\n \u201cAm going to do some system scaling tests tonight & tomorrow in advance of the conversation,\u201d Musk wrote on the platform, formerly known as Twitter.<\/p>\n The interview will be hosted live using Trump\u2019s official X account, his campaign said on Sunday.<\/p>\n Following the attack on Congress by Trump\u2019s supporters on January 6, 2021, the platform\u2019s previous owners suspended Trump\u2019s access to his account, @realDonaldTrump, which Musk took over a month later.<\/p>\n Trump frequently posts on his Truth Social social media platform, which was launched in February 2022. He has returned to X only once since his access was restored, with a post in August 2023 appealing for donations and showing his Fulton County jail mug shot.<\/p>\n Trump\u2019s interview with Musk comes just days after sitting down with popular internet personality Adin Ross at his Mar-a-Lago home in an attempt to maintain online momentum for his bid for a second term in office.<\/p>\n Musk, who owns the social media platform X (previously known as Twitter), has a track record of supporting conservative content producers.<\/p>\n Musk, who has been working hard to elect Trump in a variety of ways, recently launched a SuperPAC that will spend millions of dollars to collect voter data in crucial swing states, Mediaite reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAmerica PAC, which Musk co-founded, had kept a relatively low profile until recent media reports highlighted the unique efforts of the group and its big-name backers. In a July interview with\u00a0Jordan Peterson, Musk\u00a0discussed\u00a0the PAC, which has spent more than $20 million since June, according to FEC filings. Investors beyond Musk include\u00a0Cameron Winklevoss\u00a0and\u00a0Tyler Winklevoss,\u00a0Joe Lonsdale, and\u00a0Doug Leone,\u201d the report said.<\/p>\n \u201cOne ad the PAC had been using to encourage people to register to vote is the video of the attempted assassination of Trump on July 13. The ad includes someone sending the video to a friend and telling them they need to register to vote, and the friend who received the video is then told how to register, according to a breakdown from\u00a0CNBC<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cThe ad promotes the America PAC\u00a0website<\/a>, but registration results have been different depending on the state,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n CNBC reported: \u201cBut for users who enter a ZIP code that indicates they live in a battleground state, like Pennsylvania or Georgia, the process is very different.\u00a0Rather than be directed to their state\u2019s voter registration page, they instead are directed to a highly detailed personal information form, prompted to enter their address, cellphone number and age.\u00a0If they agree to submit all that, the system still does not steer them to a voter registration page. Instead, it shows them a \u2018thank you\u2019 page. So that person who wanted help registering to vote? In the end, they got no help at all registering. But they did hand over priceless personal data to a political operation.\u201d<\/p>\n The website said that not all people who have entered their information have completed the forms.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was brought to our attention on August 2 that some people may have been unable to complete the registration process on this website on August 1 and 2.
