Former President Donald Trump made a pledge to form a commission on assassination attempts that would include releasing the remaining documents related to John F. Kennedy\u2019s murder in November 1963 hours after Robert F. Kennedy Jr. endorsed him.<\/p>\n
Trump made his announcement at a rally in Glendale, Ariz., just hours after receiving RFK Jr.\u2019s endorsement following the former Democrat-turned-Independent\u2019s decision to end his presidential bid and back the 45th president. Kennedy\u2019s father, Robert F. Kennedy Sr., JFK\u2019s brother, was also assassinated during a presidential bid of his own on June 5, 1968, at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, Calif.<\/p>\n
JFK was assassinated in Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963.<\/p>\n
During his rally speech, Trump referenced the assassination attempt against him last month in Butler, Pa. \u201cThey will also conduct a rigorous review of the attack last month,\u201d Trump noted, as reported by the New York Post<\/a>. \u201cBut I tell you, I have never had more people ask me, \u2018Please, sir, release the documents on the Kennedy assassination,\u2019 and we\u2019re going to do that.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump also reiterated his pledge to establish a panel of \u201ctop experts working with Bobby\u201d that would investigate the cause of a \u201cdecades-long increase in chronic health problems and childhood diseases.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe want every child in America to grow up and to live a long and healthy life,\u201d the GOP nominee declared.<\/p>\n At the rally in Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Trump, 78, praised the 70-year-old scion of the Kennedy political dynasty as an \u201cincredible champion\u201d for American values. Trump described Kennedy as a \u201chighly respected\u201d and \u201cgreat person\u201d before introducing him as a surprise guest.<\/p>\n \u201cBobby! Bobby! Bobby!\u201d Trump supporters in the packed arena chanted.<\/p>\n \u201cFor the past 16 months, Bobby has run an extraordinary campaign,\u201d Trump said. \u201cI know because he went after me a couple of times \u2014 I didn\u2019t like it.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cHis candidacy has inspired millions and millions of Americans, raised critical issues that have been too long ignored in this country and brought together people from across the political spectrum in a positive campaign grounded in the American values of his father, Robert Kennedy, a great man, and his uncle, President John F. Kennedy,\u201d the former president added. \u201cAnd I know that they are looking down right now, and they are very, very proud of Bobby. I\u2019m proud of Bobby.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cOne of the issues that he talked about was having safe food and ending the chronic disease epidemic,\u201d the Democrat-turned-independent told the crowd.<\/p>\n Kennedy went on to say that in his initial conversations with Trump \u2013 after the July 13 assassination attempt in Pennsylvania \u2014 the pair discussed \u201cnot the things that separate us, because we don\u2019t agree on everything, but on the values and the issues\u201d they share.<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t you want healthy children? And don\u2019t you want the chemicals out of our food? And don\u2019t you want the regulatory agencies to be free from corporate corruption? And that\u2019s what President Trump told me that he wanted,\u201d Kennedy said.<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t you want a president that\u2019s going to make America healthy again?\u201d he asked the roaring crowd.<\/p>\n RFK Jr. also mentioned Trump\u2019s vows to keep America out of foreign wars, end censorship, and protect \u201cAmerica\u2019s freedoms\u201d from \u201ctotalitarianism.\u201d<\/p>\n After Kennedy\u2019s brief remarks, Trump spoke, predicting that his former rival would have a \u201chuge influence\u201d on his campaign \u2014 \u201cmuch bigger than you\u2019d see in the polls.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBobby and I will fight together to defeat the corrupt political establishment and return control of this country to the people.
