A political analyst for CNN poured more cold water on Vice President Kamala Harris\u2019 campaign during a segment on Thursday, citing new poll numbers from a key demographic.<\/p>\n
CNN\u2019s political director, David Chalian, noted that white voters without college degrees are a particularly problematic group for Harris, whereas Trump has a significant advantage.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you look at the white voters without college degrees, this is a Trump-based constituency, obviously,\u201d said Chalian. \u201cYou see his huge numbers with this group. You see that this is a trouble sign for Harris.\u201d He further noted that the vice president is also struggling with another key demographic: white, college-educated voters in battleground states.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe probably wants to make up some ground with white college-educated voters across these battlegrounds as well,\u201d Chalian said.<\/p>\n
A significant decline in support for Harris among white voters, regardless of their educational background, could jeopardize her chances, the expert noted.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Biden-Harris administration got some more bad news this week.<\/p>\n
The U.S. economy only added 142,000 jobs in August though the unemployment rate marginally decreased to 4.2% from 4.3%, according to Labor Department data released on Friday.<\/p>\n
The labor market\u2019s slowdown is a key element that will assist the Federal Reserve in deciding how big of an interest rate decrease to announce later this month. The August statistics fell short of the projected 161,000 employment growth.<\/p>\n
The updated report also includes noteworthy updates for previous months: Just 89,000 new jobs were created in July, 25,000 fewer than first anticipated. The June increases were reduced to 118,000 from 61,000.<\/p>\n
The economy in general, but personal finances in particular, has become the top issue heading into the November election, according to the vast majority of polling over the past year.<\/p>\n
Last month, Trump\u2019s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance, torched<\/a> a New York Times reporter during a rally in Michigan on Wednesday who tried to get his response to a slightly positive economic report that hit earlier in the week.<\/p>\n The reporter inquired about the latest economic data, which reported inflation at under 3%, the lowest level since mid-2021. But what was intended as a straightforward request for comment became a platform for former President Donald Trump\u2019s running mate to criticize the current administration.<\/p>\n \u201cI wanted to ask you about the latest economic news from this morning, with inflation now being under 3%, the lowest rate since mid-2021. What is your reaction to that news?\u201d the Times reporter asked, which led to a round of boos and jeers from the crowd.<\/p>\n \u201cWell, I think the crowd reaction says it all,\u201d Vance began, gesturing to the energized audience\u2019s audible boos to the question. \u201cLook, when they say that inflation is down, they mean from a baseline where groceries are already 30% more expensive than they were when Donald Trump was president. And they\u2019re not saying it\u2019s coming down, they\u2019re just saying it\u2019s not going up as fast as it was three years ago. That is not a reputation or a record to brag on, that\u2019s a record to be ashamed of.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWhy did it take them so long to get inflation to where it is, and why are prices so high?
