\u201cAccording to two people briefed on the incident, the former president was golfing at Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach early Sunday afternoon when agents heard gunshots. He was taken away to a holding room at the club. The Secret Service has long been concerned about Trump\u2019s vulnerability on his golf courses, which remain open to parts of the public and are often near heavily trafficked areas,\u201d the Washington Post reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cNo one was believed to have been hit by the shots, the people said. Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said the incident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. The Secret Service and the Palm Beach County Sheriff\u2019s Office are jointly investigating the shooting and \u2018will have more details soon,\u2019 Guglielmi said on X. He repeated that Trump \u2018is safe,’\u201d the outlet added.<\/p>\n The Palm Beach County Sheriff\u2019s Office apprehended a suspect on Florida\u2019s Interstate 95 after he seemed to attempt to escape on foot, according to a Secret Service person briefed on the situation.<\/p>\n The White House released a statement stating that Vice President Kamala Harris and President Joe Biden have been told about the incident. The White House stated that they are \u201crelieved to know that he is safe\u201d and that they will receive updates on the situation.<\/p>\n This comes as\u00a0 Trump announced a plan that could win him a higher percentage of middle-class workers\u2019 votes.<\/p>\n Speaking at a rally in Arizona on Thursday, he said that if he became president again, he would spearhead an effort to end taxes on overtime pay, The Daily Wire reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cAs part of our additional tax cuts, we will end all taxes on overtime,\u201d he said as he stood in front of a sign that read \u201cNo Tax On Tips.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s time for the working man and woman to finally catch a break,\u201d the former president said. \u201cI think it\u2019s going to be great for the country. So if all of a sudden we start charging [a] 28% corporate tax rate, plus add on state [taxes], in some cases, you\u2019re in the 30 [percentile], and that\u2019s just not competitive anymore in terms of the G20 or G7,\u201d the investor said.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s, to me, the most horrific outcome, and I\u2019m very nervous about that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He said that no matter who is elected the uncertainty over policy is concerning for business owners.<\/p>\n \u201cThis [is] a policy-lite election. I\u2019m disappointed that Harris doesn\u2019t give us more policy specifically on taxes, specifically on corporate taxes. I need to know that.
