Illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra has been found guilty on all 10 counts.<\/p>\n
IIbarra stood trial in Athens, Georgia, accused of murdering nursing student Laken Riley, 22, while she was running on the University of Georgia campus on Feb. 22. Ibarra asked not to be tried by a jury, so he was tried by a judge instead.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe trial began Friday, and prosecutors called more than a dozen law enforcement officers, Riley\u2019s roommates and a woman who lived in the same apartment as Ibarra. Defense attorneys called a police officer, a jogger and one of Ibarra\u2019s neighbors on Tuesday and rested their case Wednesday morning,\u201d the AP reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cProsecutor Sheila Ross told the judge that Ibarra encountered Riley while she was running on the University of Georgia campus on Feb. 22 and killed her during a struggle. She was always the best to us. They admit that she was the best, and she was the first in her class. She was going to be the best nurse. She was the best nursing student. She was always the best. She was the brightest light in every room, they told me.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe was the whole world to her parents and to her sister and just to the whole family,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cBiden has implemented a formal policy that illegal aliens who intrude into the United States are granted immunity from deportation,\u201d he said. \u201cThus, when this monster showed up at our border, he was set free immediately under the program. That crooked Joe created it.\u201d<\/p>\n He said he was \u201cprofoundly honored\u201d to have Riley\u2019s family and friends present for the rally.<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re so incredible,\u201d he said. \u201cThe hearts of hundreds of thousands and indeed millions and millions of Americans and people worldwide, they\u2019re shattered alongside of your beautiful hearts. We share your grief. We share your grief. Thank you, darling. Thank you. Thank you very much. We appreciate it.\u201d<\/p>\n Last week Trump said he reached out to Riley\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n Fox News reported that the former president made his comments while he was at the border this week when he mentioned that he spoke to the young student\u2019s parents.<\/p>\n \u201cThe parents are devastated, and they\u2019re incredible people\u2026.This is a Joe Biden invasion. A Biden invasion. I call him crooked Joe\u2026 the most incompetent president we\u2019ve ever had,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cHe never mentioned her name,\u201d the former president said of Biden. \u201cI\u2019m not going to forget her.\u201d<\/p>\n He said that she was \u201cbarbarically attacked\u201d when she was jogging and then \u201cbrutally assaulted, horrifically beaten, kidnapped, and savagely murdered.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe was an incredible young lady,\u201d he said. \u201cShe was so beautiful in so many ways.\u201d<\/p>\n Biden did eventually say her name, when he was shamed into doing it at the State of the Union, but he got her name incorrect and downplayed the crime.<\/p>\n The president complained that Republicans blocked border legislation at the behest of his \u201cpredecessor\u201d when he was interrupted by Republican Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat about Laken Riley?\u201d she hollered from the gallery. \u201cSay her name!\u201d<\/p>\n Biden then held up a pin that Greene had given him that said, \u201cSay Her Name, Laken Riley.\u201d<\/p>\n He then said, \u201cLincoln \u2026 Lincoln, Lincoln Riley, an innocent young woman who was killed.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cBy an illegal!\u201d the representative said.<\/p>\n \u201cBy an illegal. That\u2019s right. But how many of thousands of people are being killed by legals?\u201d Biden responded callously.<\/p>\n \u201cTo her parents, I say: My heart goes out to you. Having lost children myself, I understand,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Lincoln Riley is the head football coach at USC.<\/p>\n \u201cBiden does not even KNOW my child\u2019s name \u2013 it\u2019s pathetic! If you are going to say her name (even when forced to do so at least say the right name!\u201d Riley\u2019s mother, Allyson Phillips, wrote on Facebook.<\/p>\n \u201cJoe Biden just confused Laken Riley, a college student killed by an illegal immigrant, with USC football coach Lincoln Riley. This just happened. The man\u2019s brain is mush. Incredibly disrespectful,\u201d Clay Travis said after the gaffe.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2018Lincoln\u2019 Riley?
